Agios Theologos is one of the most beautiful places on the island. Located 7 kms southwest of Kefalos village it is named for one of the local churches which is just beyond the taverna.
To get there, pass through through the old village of Kefalos and follow the signs. The road is asphalt but be on the look out for pot holes and goats!!
Also know as 'Wave Beach' it is frequented by body surfers and there is kite surfing not too far away. The beach itself is quite coarse sand and pebbles with a wonderful mix of different types of stones.
The landscape is quite different to other parts of the island with low growing wild juniper, pine and cupressus trees which lean in the direction of the prevailing winds.
There is one taverna there which serves very good food and is the perfect place to watch the sunset from. The only thing in front of you is the sea - it is glorious.
Local cheese is produced by the family who have the taverna and you will more often than not encounter goats wandering around the place.
It is a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year but there is some lovely walking around the area if you are there in the early or late parts of the season when it is not too hot.
........... and again for a sticky treat
